- Tom is the tactical genius behind the Birmingham Hodge Hill by-election, where Labour staggered on to just win after suffering the 7th worse by-election swing in their history. He is the co-author of "Votes for Tone" which advocates birching for anyone who fails for vote Labour, "West Bromwich is the best place ever (1997)", "East Birmingham - nowhere better! (2004)" and "Hartlepool is the most wonderful town in the world, ever, ever (yet to be published)".
- Tom is considerably more working class than you, and don't you forget it.
- Tom is very sensitive about people suggesting that his "laff riot" web page Teens! should be taken seriously. Despite the website appearing to make it look like he is an out of touch, middle-aged loser, he would like it to be made clear that he is being ironic and in reality is very much down with the kids. Only for real. Not a joke.
